Chicken Katsu Ramen

by Toro

I had always imagined Ramen might taste like indian spices, due to its rich color of the broth. Now when I think of it doesn’t makes sense why should that be true but that’s what I had thought before. I was expecting it to be very known and friendly to my taste buds like something I have had for many years, something that I would instantly like and enjoy. Atleast that’s how they describe it on the reviews and blogs right?

So let me tell you, if you’re not familiar or have tried a few japanese food before or in general south-east asian couisine even that much it might come to a surprise to you. I don’t mean it tastes bad but the first taste might not be as you were expecting it to be.

The one I had tried was chicken katsu ramen with chicken broth, so any sane person in my shoes would expect it to taste like chicken, but not me. I was not sure what I was expecting but it was certainly not what I was prepared for. So one more fact about me i was trying chichken broth for the first time as well, as I am not a long time non-vegeterian.

So the broth itself tastes very like chicken boiled in water which is exactly what it is, haha. But its richer its not simply just the chicken taste but there’s that umami flavour to it. Now I can write another blog describing that umami flavour but thats for another day. And the more you slurp that soup inside of you the better the taste will get.
